Remember when you were a kid? Your parents laid out a list of chores for you to complete before the end of the week, and if you didn't, you'd be grounded until they say you've repented enough for your sins.
Now, imagine that same process, but being an 18-year-old who doesn't live under the same roof as your parents anymore. How do you cope with the fact that they still try to command you to do things that do not concern you?
This is a control issue, and a case of expecting children to be housekeepers rather than children. The regular chore when you're living with your parents is not what I'm vilifying—I have a major issue with the parents in this next story who believe they can control their college-aged daughter just because they can.
They turned off the internet on her devices—ones that are necessary for her to complete her coursework. So, her parents decide to jeopardize her grades rather than accept that their daughter is not indebted to them in the way they believe. Scroll below to read the full story.
